KaCey Rovers would like to put forward their idea of a rover-venturer link up with the venturer units within the Kapiti Coast Zone.
Please send me a message via this website if you or your venturer unit has some ideas of what activities you guys and gals would like to do with us.
Thanks

Looking for some gripping yarns about Venturers? Thought boys don't love books? Try Christopher J. Holcroft's Only The Brave Dare and CANYON.
Both books follow the exciting adventures of Venturer Scout Scott Morrow as he faces off with a group of Russian Mafia and also helps save a Venturer during a major canyoning trip.
Both books were written by a Venturer Leader and are aimed at Scouts and Venturers who love a good roller coaster ride in adventure. Check out previews at Google books or

Happy Venturing,

Chr istopher J. Holcroft

V07: Venture Explained

V07: The 10th New Zealand Venture
January 2nd - 10th 2007

What is a Venture?

Click here to download our Invitation to V07 PDF file

A Venture is a gathering of teenagers (male and female) between 14 years and 19 years of age who;

wish to take part in a range of self choice activities
make new friends
have fun

You spend 8 days in groups of up to 10 including an adult leader to assist. The first phase of Venture 2007 will have your group participating in a 5 day activity of your choosing with other Venturers from around the country and world who chose that same activity.

The second phase of Venture 2007 will have you all come together at a central venue where you can participate in a range of day and half day activities of your choosing, socialise and generally just have a heap of fun.

Ventures are held every three years; the next one is not until 2010!

Invitations to attend have also been sent to Australian and Pacific Island Venturers as well. We are expecting up to 500 Venturers and Leaders to attend including 75+ from Australia plus others from the UK, USA and Japan. It will be a truly international event.

We recommend that International Venturers intending to come to Venture 2007 in New Zealand contact your National or Branch Office for information regarding any visiting contingent.

To be kept informed on a weekly basis subscribe to the Venturer 2007 email send a blank email to:

There is already massive interest in Venturer 2007 with over 150 subscribed to the weekly email and over 80 Registrations Of Interest in the first 4 days of registration. You can register your interest here on this website.

Venture 2007 will be an event no Venturer will want to miss!

Where and when is the VO7?

The expeditions held during the first 5 days of VO7 will be at a variety of locations in the Auckland Region. The site for the last 3 days is situated 45 minutes drive south of Auckland City and is ideally situated as a base for many activities ranging from sailing, canoeing, swimming, shooting, four wheel driving, sightseeing or just relaxing and socialising.

The first day of V07 is January 2nd. We meet near the Auckland Airport and leave for the expeditions by midday. The event closes on Jan 10th and we leave the Phase Two site on the morning of 11th January 2007 and deliver you back to the Airport or in the city. Details about parking private vehicles will be sent out nearer the time.

The Organisers?

The Venture is organised on behalf of Scouting NZ by a committee drawn from the Mahurangi, Auckland, Counties-Manukau and Waikato Scout Areas.

The committee members are:
